The Menino adminstration is putting the public at risk with his childish shennagens. I don’t know who he thinks he is. I never met a fire fighter that didn’t answer the call to help someone in need. This guy won’t even sit at the table to have a good faith negotiation? He won’t even adequately maintain the department’s fleet? That’s not just corrupt and bad government. That should be illegal. I have two children under the age of 5. I need quality emergency services in this city. Menino talks about quality services. But that’s all he does – talk.

You guys are the best! Thank you for doing what you do!

    Fire fight the smears!

Just hang in there. Your responding in the correct way with just providing the facts without giving into too much anger. The public will see the truth this way and respond in a positive way. We love and pray for you so don’t this jackleg get you down!

United We Stand. The Boston Firefighters are well respected in circles who know what firefighting is, too bad certain pols and poison pen authors cannot see the light. There are not too many of your pundits who know what it is like to go to work everyday knowing you could die. So stand tough Brothers & Sisters and continue to fight the good fight!

We’re excited to start our conversation with the Citizens of Boston! This is a unique opportunity for us to have a dialogue with you, our customers. Unfortunately our interactions with the public are usually during an emergency, this site will give us an opportunity to answer any questions you have, and inform you about our job, and what it means to you.

It’s about time. The way Menino has villified the Boston Firefighters has been despicable. Let the truth set you free!

Menino should be ashamed of himself!! Thank you to all the men and women who choose to risk their lives to protect us. They should be applauded, not ridiculed for the bad choices of a small few.
As for Mumbles Menino, if he supported the fire department a bit more perhaps they might have it in the budget to keep up the aging equiptment. It is mayor menino and his commrades who let the people of Boston down—-NOT THE FIRE DEPT!

It is unfortunate that Menino has chosen to go around the collective bargaining process by using the media to form a negative view of the men and women who give their all to keep his citizens safe. I am glad to see there is now an outlet for us(the citizens of Boston) to get a better view of the brave members of the Boston Fire Department. It’s about time!

I was reading a paper that published Menino’s praise regarding Sen. Ted Kennedy and his life, passing. I believe Kennedy has done some good deeds in his lifetime. Take the armor for the soldiers in Iraq. He also has had his share of bad judgement, to put it mildly. If Menino can sing the praise of this man, why does he condemn the jakes when one of his own has a failing? He tarnishes the firefighter(s) as if they have done nothing worthy in life. We all have our demons and failures. But if we work to change our ways, that is what is important. If he can praise Ted, he should certainly praise his firemen who always answer the call. Perhaps the mayor could stop by the EPA someday and give some encouragement to the men/women pulling themselves up by the bootstrap.

    Let’s put this in context:

Boston Firefighter’s protect the men, women, and children of Boston. They put there own lives at risk on a daily basis. Boston Firefighters WANT drug testing in their new negotiated contract.

Mayor Menino will not come to the table to negotiate with the Boston Firefighters. He is an enemy of organized labor. Newt Gingrich wouldn’t even do what Menino is doing. Menino calls himself a Democrat? Menino does not equip the Boston Firefighters with the proper equipment, fire trucks, or maintenance. This puts MY CHILDREN at risk. Fire Fighters have enough risk when it comes to emergencies- they don’t need unnecessary risk from poor equipment unfunded by Mayor Menino. Mayor Menino raises taxes on us, doesn’t fund the Boston Fire Department and gives tax breaks to rich developers. As a father who is deciding whether or not he raises his children in Boston, what would you do if you were me? My decision will be based on one simple premise: If we get a new mayor I stay, if we keep this this corrupt self absrobed machine wrangler, I’m out. I will not subject my children to a predictable decline.
